Using Cell Phones While Driving

Thanks to a new law, it is now illegal to send or receive text messages using a cell phone or other device while driving in Pennsylvania.

Some people have argued that the Commonwealth also should ban talking on cell phones while driving. They argue that a driver’s full attention should be on the road.

Others say that the state should not ban talking on the phone while driving, arguing it is no more dangerous than talking to a fellow passenger in the car.
