Reed Invites Residents to Indiana Town Hall Meeting
3/3/2010

Rep. Dave Reed (R-Indiana) is inviting local residents to join him at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, for a town hall meeting at the Chevy Chase Community Center.

“This is another one of the ways I stay in touch with the folks who send me to Harrisburg to represent them,” Reed said.  “These town hall meetings have a give-and-take atmosphere.  I spend the first part of the meeting giving an update on what’s going on in our area and in the state Capitol.  I spend the rest of the meeting taking questions from folks and providing them with answers.”

The Chevy Chase Community Center is located at 640 North Fifth Ave. in Indiana.  The event is open to the public; however, reservations are required.  To attend, residents should call Reed’s district office at 724-465-0220 by Monday, March 8, to make a reservation.  Residents are asked to make a reservation to ensure enough refreshments are available for all who attend.

This will be the second in a series of three town hall meetings Reed has scheduled in March.  Reed is hosting a town hall meeting in Blairsville on March 4 and another in Homer City on March 25.  Residents can visit Reed’s Web site at RepDaveReed.net and click on the “upcoming events” link to find the dates, times and locations for future town hall meetings.

“I always enjoy the interaction with constituents,” Reed said.  “Whether we’re talking about hot-button issues or just discussing state programs and services, I think it’s important for folks to have access to their state representative.  After all, they are the reason I get up and go to work each day.  I never forget who I’m working for.”
