New $30 Million URBN Distribution Center to Bring Hundreds of Jobs to Indiana County, Reed, White, Oleksiak Announce
WHITE TOWNSHIP – Welcoming a project which will bring hundreds of family-sustaining jobs to Indiana County, Rep. Dave Reed (R-Indiana), Sen. Don White (R-41), Pennsylvania Labor and Industry Secretary Jerry Oleksiak, Indiana County commissioners and other local officials today joined Urban Outfitters Inc. (URBN) in making a major economic development announcement.

Philadelphia-based URBN is locating an 880,000-square-foot customer fulfillment center at the Windy Ridge Business and Technology Park in White Township. Construction of the $30 million facility is scheduled to begin next month and will require approximately 600 workers to build it, prior to its anticipated opening in October 2019.

The company’s decision to grow its business locally was met very positively by state and local officials as they worked over the past several years to make this announcement possible.

“Urban Outfitters’ move to Indiana County will significantly impact our region’s economy. In addition to the hundreds of full-time, family-sustaining jobs at the customer fulfillment center, there will be hundreds of construction jobs as the facility is built,” Reed said. “This announcement would not have been possible without the efforts of many, including Gov. Tom Wolf and his administration, who helped pave the way for this Urban Outfitters opportunity.”

“This facility and its potential for growth is an economic-gamechanger for us, and we are grateful to company officials for choosing Windy Ridge and Indiana County for this major investment,” said White.

Founded in 1970, URBN’s portfolio of global consumer brands includes Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, BHLDN, Terrain and the Vetri Family.
